DEFRA have recently published the planned reduction percentages for delinked BPS payments in 2025.
They have also confirmed that payments will be made in a single lump sum from the 1st August 2025.
Reduction amounts (in comparison to original BPS amount payable):
- £30,000 or less are being reduced by 76%.
- Amounts over £30,000 are being reduced by 100%.
For example, if your reference amount was £20,000 there will be a 76% reduction applied, which would amount to £15,200 making your payment in 2025 as £4,800.
These reductions are based on reference amounts, not the value of the 2024 payment.
