Current Position: Associate Director
Experience: Matthew has gained 30 years’ experience in the property industry working for a high quality independent estate agent and most recently as a Regional Director for a large estate agency. Matthew has a reputation for putting his customers at the heart of his business and genuinely supporting and guiding homeowners through what can often be a stressful transaction.
Interests: Matthew and his family live in Totnes and his children attend the local primary school. He is passionate about canoeing and enjoys exploring the wonderful countryside that we are so fortunate to have on our doorstep.
Current Position: Chartered Surveyor
Antony works in residential and commercial agency at our Kingsbridge office as well as performing associated professional work for a variety of clients. Antony is a registered valuer and member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Experience: After initially gaining experience with a national firm of estate agents in Bath and Bristol, Antony moved to the South West in 1983 working in the residential and commercial sectors in Torbay before joining Luscombe Maye in 1990.
Interests: Antony has two children and enjoys spending time with the family and making the most of the opportunities this area has to offer including golf, tennis, walking and sailing and takes a keen interest in and supports the local and regional rugby teams.
Current Position: Assistant Branch Manager
Experience: Hebe has always been passionate about the local area, having grown up in the South Hams. With local knowledge and warm approach, Hebe is always ready to offer guidance and make the process as smooth as possible. She takes pride in building strong relationships and supporting clients through every stage of buying or selling.
Interests: Outside of work, Hebe enjoys spending time with friends and family at local events and exploring the countryside with coastal and moorland walks but often unwinds by watching a good film at the cinema. Hebe is also a member of Kingsbridge Young Farmers Club and gets involved with their active programme.

Experience: Carole joined the Totnes office after working for many years for local solicitors as a legal secretary/legal assistant in various departments including residential conveyancing. With her previous experience, Carole has a fantastic knowledge of property sales process, as well as being a very personable and friendly member of the team.
Interests: When not working Carole enjoys long walks her dog, Basil. She especially loves the beaches which are near to her, caravanning holidays with the family and enjoys reading a good book.

Experience: Amelia has recently joined the Totnes team and brings with her a customer centric attitude and a positive outlook, developed from previous employment. Amelia is highly motivated and dedicated to supporting clients through what can be a challenging and stressful journey.
Interests: Amelia enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring the countryside and enjoying the local beaches with her dog, Arlo. She also enjoys preparing baked goods for friends and family, especially brownies and other new recipes to try.
Current Position: Director. Head of Agriculture and Rural Planning Department
Amanda has been the Partner in charge of the Totnes office since becoming a Partner with Luscombe Maye in 2006. She heads up the Agriculture and Rural Planning Department based in Totnes and is responsible for a team of rural professionals, specialising in agricultural and rural planning advice and applications, Basic Payment Scheme, grants for subsidies and general agricultural/land management advice.
After joining Luscombe Maye in June 1995 as a professional assistant to one of the Partners, she moved up the ranks after gaining her professional qualifications, becoming an Associate Partner before becoming a full Partner.
Qualifications: BSc (Hons), FAAV, MBIAC
Experience: Amanda has an Honours Degree in Agriculture with Countryside Management from Seale Hayne Agricultural College, is a Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers, is on the CAAV Council and is also a Member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants.
Amanda is married to a farmer and is also involved in a successful holiday letting business and can therefore put a good deal of experience behind her professional advice.
Interests: Amanda really loves family life at home on the farm with her husband and children; when not being a wife/mother or in the office, she loves nothing more than spending hours in the kitchen producing lunch/supper for lots of people. She has recently learnt to weld and has completed a life-size sculpture of a horse in scrap metal which is now “at grass” at her home.
Amanda has a long–standing passion for horse racing particularly steeple-chasing and Point to Points and spends any spare time at the races.

Lucinda joined Luscombe Maye in January 2017 and was made an Associate in 2020.
She works alongside Amanda Burden primarily working on rural and agricultural planning matters. The team specialise in agricultural, equestrian and rural planning advice and applications. In addition to planning, Lucinda undertakes Basic Payment Scheme applications and land agency.
Experience: Lucinda was brought up on a working family farm in Dorset before studying Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural College. Having graduated with BSc (Hons) Lucinda worked for a national firm specialising in the sale of farms and equestrian property. She relocated to Devon and worked for a local rural property developer on the edge of Dartmoor before joining the agricultural and rural planning team at Luscombe Maye. Lucinda enjoys combining her training and experience to achieve the bests results for her clients.
Interests: Lucinda has a strong equestrian background and has ridden throughout her life. She has competed internationally as an event rider and continues to take part in a variety of country sports. Lucinda enjoys following the local hunt and riding on the Moor.

Phoebe joined Luscombe Maye in 2017 and was involved in a wide range of
professional work including planning matters, valuations, land and farm sales and basic payment scheme applications.
In 2018 Phoebe joined the Agricultural and Rural Planning Department full time where she is part of a very experienced, skilled and knowledgeable team. Phoebe works alongside Amanda Burden and is involved in preparing and submitting planning applications including agricultural buildings, temporary and permanent agricultural dwellings, equestrian buildings and barn conversions, along with rural diversification projects.
Experience: Phoebe is from an agricultural background and grew up on her family farm near Kingsbridge. Phoebe has a wide knowledge of the South Hams and the surrounding areas and a passion for helping farmers and landowners fulfil their planning aspirations.
Before starting at Luscombe Maye Phoebe lived in Australia for two years where she spent her time travelling and attending university.
Interests: Outside of work Phoebe enjoys spending time with her family and watching rugby. In the summer she enjoys spending time on the beach, in particular South Milton Sands, where she loves to paddle board.
Current Position: Administrator, Agricultural and Rural Planning Department
Kash joined Luscombe Maye at the beginning of 2013 and provides support to the skilled and knowledgeable Agricultural and Rural Planning team. Office-based, Kash is the link between our clients and members of the team.
Experience: After 20 years in London working in the City with the Financial Times and the international news agency, Reuters, Kash took her “gap year” and sailed the Atlantic in a Tall Ship and has worked her way west, moving to Devon in 2003.
Interests: Kash has been involved with the Yealmpton Show since 2006 and is one of the Chief Stewards for Trade Stands. She is a keen gardener and she enjoys country pursuits.
Current Position: Rural Planning Engineer
Jerry has joined the Agricultural and Rural Planning Department and is part of a very experienced, skilled and knowledgeable team. Jerry works alongside Amanda Burden and is involved in preparing and submitting planning applications including agricultural buildings, temporary and permanent agricultural dwellings, equestrian buildings and barn conversions, along with rural diversification projects. As a Structural Engineer Jerry also brings a broader construction knowledge to the team.
Experience: Jerry is from a farming background with a small but diverse organic farm on the south devon coast. As a civil and structural engineer, he has worked in and around development and construction for many (thirty plus) years with particular experience in agricultural and commercial building design and development and local authority project planning and development. Jerry enjoys combining practical and professional knowledge and his farming and development experience to produce the bests results for our clients.
Interests: As a father of three busy teenagers and with a teacher wife who also runs a farm school plus running our organic farm and campsite etc., time off is a rare and precious commodity, but I thoroughly enjoy family, friends, our lovely part of the world, tinkering with our collection of old vehicles and kit and the very occasional surf.
Current Position: Rural Planning Surveyor
Experience: Pippa is a member of our Rural Planning Team at Luscombe Maye, where she works alongside Amanda Burden, providing advice on agricultural, equestrian and rural planning matters. She also has experience across wider land agency work, including grant schemes, sales and valuations. Raised on a dairy farm in Mothecombe, South Devon, she developed a strong understanding of rural life from an early age. She studied Rural Land Management at The Royal Agricultural University, graduating in 2018, and went on to qualify as both MRICS and FAAV in 2022.
Interests: Outside of work, Pippa enjoys horse racing and competed as an amateur point-to-point jockey for many years, achieving nine wins and riding over the Grand National fences at Aintree. She also enjoys time on the family farm, swimming, paddle boarding, and country sports.
Experience: Chloe grew up as part of a farming family in West Devon. Having moved away to gain her BSc in Geography and Sports Sciences at Loughborough University, she has returned and joined Luscombe Maye as a Rural Planning Graduate. Whilst with Luscombe and Maye Chloe is going to further her studies, taking a Masters in Town Planning at the University of Plymouth to become RTPI accredited.
Interests: In her spare time Chloe captains her local cricket team, playing games regularly throughout the summer for multiple sides. Cricket has taken Chloe around the country representing Devon, as well as to South Africa on tour. She also enjoys going to her local Beach in North Devon to read and swim, and during the winter months, she loves walking the dog over the moors around Okehampton with her family.
Current Position: Head of Development Land and New Homes
Experience: Matt’s career in the property industry started in 2006, where he has managed development land and new homes departments for both corporate and independent estate agencies across the Southwest. He has gained a wealth of experience in the marketing and sales of new homes and worked with landowners to introduce sites to developers.
Matt’s role within Luscombe Maye is to work with landowners looking to dispose their land for residential use and manage the sales and marketing strategies for the new homes sales across the branch network.
Interests: When not working Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, where they’ll often be spotted on long walks across the Southwest. Matt is also a keen runner and enjoys watching (and occasionally playing) cricket as well as playing golf and football.
Current Position: Senior Accounts Administrator
Qualifications: Heather is qualified in Business Accounts.

Information Technology NICAS Database Advanced and Desktop Publishing Intermediate.
Experience: Heather has worked for Luscombe Maye since 1999, initially working with our Office Accounts department then later moving on to Residential and Agricultural Client Accounts where heather now manages client rents for residential and agricultural landlords and also works with our office accounts team producing management accounts and reports for the Directorship. Before joining Luscombe Maye, Heather’s career started and evolved at Devonport Naval Base where she undertook data input for the MOD (Naval) for Submarine Refits and Stores (PSTO).
Interests: “I met my husband through Old Time social dancing and we married in 1971. We went on to do competitive dancing, representing Devon & Cornwall until 1975.”
Current Position: Company Administration Officer
Experience: Liz has joined Luscombe Maye as a Company Administration Officer working with our Accounts team. Liz’s previous career was in a local branch of a national bank, completing various customer facing and operations roles.
Interests: Liz loves spending time with family and friends, horse racing, antique fairs and auctions.
Current Position: Apprentice
As part of our expansion to support the firm, Lilly Burlison has recently joined the accounts team as an apprentice. Lilly is excited about developing her skills and completing her training. Prior to joining Luscombe Maye, Lilly worked in various customer-facing roles and gained short-term work experience in Richmond.
During her free time, Lilly likes to stay active by running and walking her Labrador, Wilfred. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, making the most of the countryside.
Experience: Andy joined the Luscombe Maye Lettings Team in August 2017, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the fast-paced, ever-evolving Student Lettings market. Known for his adaptability and passion for delivering exceptional service, Andy has thrived in dynamic and challenging environments, and has driven the Lettings department to be a market-leader in the field which they operate in.
Key Achievements: Born in Cape Town, Andy’s life has been shaped by frequent moves, giving him a unique perspective on the lettings process & life in general. After emigrating to Henley-On-Thames, relocating to the Isle of Man, and then to Portugal, he finally settled in Cornwall to attend university. Graduating in 2013 with a second-class honours in Editorial Photography, Andy dove into the Student Lettings market and within just two years, he had risen to the role of Business Manager at a lettings company in the South West managing upwards of 400 units across Devon & Cornwall. His move to Devon in 2015 marked a new chapter in his career, where he continues to build on his successes and proudly calls South Hams “home”. Under Andy’s leadership, he has played an integral role in streamlining operations and growing the lettings portfolio, cementing his reputation as a highly driven and successful individual.
Interests: Outside of work, Andy has a deep passion for adventure, with the sea being like a second home to him. His love for the water is firmly rooted in powerboating, but he’s eager to broaden his horizons by venturing into sailing and scuba diving. These activities fuel his sense of exploration and connection to the ocean, further enhancing his lifelong passion for all things maritime. Andy is joined on his adventures by his Wife and Son, plus 2 long-haired Dachshunds called Oscar & Heidi.
Current Position: Assistant Branch Manager
Experience: Ellie joined the lettings team in July 2024 and has two prior years of experience having worked for a corporate letting agent in Plymouth. Ellie’s passion for the industry propelled from completing her law degree back in 2020 and can enjoy using her training to support landlords and tenants in a very busy market.
Prior to lettings, Ellie has 8 years of experience in various roles (legal and retail) so is comfortable with fast paced environments and prides herself on her personable and supportive approach.
Interests: Outside of work Ellie and her husband are kept busy with their two young boys who love exploring Devon and Cornwall.
Current Position: Portfolio Property Manager
Experience: With over 13 years of experience in residential lettings, Rebecca brings a wealth of knowledge and professionalism to the Luscombe Maye team. She has a strong background in property management, compliance, and customer service, and is passionate about delivering a high standard of care to both landlords and tenants.
Rebecca has worked extensively across Plymouth and the South Hams, managing a wide range of residential portfolios. She is highly experienced in all aspects of tenancy management and, as a Member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (MARLA), stays up to date with the latest legislation to ensure best practice at all times. Her key strengths include clear communication, effective problem-solving, and building trusted relationships with clients and contractors.
Interests: Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her young family, catching up with friends, and exploring the Devon coastline. She also loves going on holidays, whether it’s a sunny getaway or a countryside break and can often be found out walking or trying to coax her reluctant whippet off the sofa.
Experience: Jenny joined the lettings team in November 2023, bringing 10 years’ property management experience gained in a varied role managing privately owned apartment blocks, in and around Plymouth.
Prior to that, Jenny enjoyed a 30 year career in banking, first in branch and Head Office roles in London and the South East before relocating to Devon in 2005 to a Commercial Sales Manager role. Through interactions with business owners across Devon and Cornwall, Jenny gained a crash course in the unique challenges and opportunities presented by this beautiful region.
Interests: When not working, Jenny enjoys country and coastal walks, spending time with her two grown up daughters and baby grandson, gardening and DIY at home and attending as many live music concerts as possible.
