Luscombe Maye Equestrian Department

Luscombe Maye Equestrian Department

We understand that selling or buying an equestrian property requires a specialist approach and that is why we have a dedicated and knowledgeable equestrian team on hand to guide you through every step of the way. Our extensive equestrian expertise, combined with our long-established brand, enables us to offer the very highest levels of service to all of our clients. In addition to sales, we are able to draw on other aspects of our business to assist clients with planning, rural matters and letting. With 7 offices across South Devon, and our Exeter and London offices, we are perfectly placed to market your property within the South West and beyond.

Our equestrian department is led by Sara Phillis.

“I first started riding aged 4 and finally succeeded in convincing my Dad to buy me a pony when I was 12 years old. From there my passion for horses grew and I feel very privileged to have owned some wonderful horses over the years with whom I have competed in most disciplines, from point to pointing and team chasing to showing and dressage. Currently I have an Irish sports horse and a retrained racehorse who help to keep me fit and poor, but happy!”

Sara began her career in estate agency in her home county of West Sussex where she spent 10 years working for an independent firm specialising in the sale and letting of country and equestrian property throughout the South East. After moving to The South Hams in 2011, she took a break from estate agency until 2017 when she then spent 4 years working as a sales and lettings negotiator in the Teign Valley and South Dartmoor areas before joining Luscombe Maye in April 2021. Sara has a friendly and professional approach which enables her to build a strong rapport with her clients and she strives to go above and beyond to assist in the whole sales process.

Selling

As our equestrian specialist, Sara will personally oversee the marketing of your property, from market appraisal right through to completion. Our bespoke marketing means that we can produce quality brochures, using professional photography including elevated and drone imagery as well as 360-degree tours, where appropriate, to showcase your property and its facilities in the best possible way.  Our brochures, importantly, will include information on the hacking available from the property, the nearest show centres and information on the equestrian activities in the area.  We thoroughly qualify all our applicants to ensure that the accommodation, facilities and land suit their requirements before booking viewings as we understand how much preparation there is to do, not just to your home but on the yard as well.

Buying

If you are considering moving your human and equine family to this part of the world, you won’t be disappointed! We have miles of country lanes, byeways and bridlepaths for hacking, as well as stunning off road riding on Dartmoor. The South Hams is renowned for its dramatic coastline and there are a number of beautiful beaches suitable for both pleasure riding and fitness and training work. Mothecombe and Wonwell are strong favourites.

With our extensive local equestrian knowledge we can also recommend vets, farriers, trainers and even a horse whisperer.

Whether you are looking to buy or sell an equestrian property in Devon please give us a call, we are here to help you. Contact Sara on 01548 845095 or by email at equestrian@luscombemaye.com.
