Heybrook Bay

At low tide, the small sandy coves of Heybrook Bay are uncovered and many of the locals enjoy kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding from the foreshore. Falcons and sea birds own the skies whilst out to sea, dolphins, whales and seals are commonly sighted.
The Eddystone Inn boasts great pub food whilst you enjoy a view of its namesake some 11 miles out to sea. A mile and half West of the village along the National Trust owned coast path is Wembury, featuring a sandy beach with a delightful array of rock-pools to explore at high tide and delicious cakes to savour in the Old Mill Café. A similar distance along the coast path East of Heybrook Bay, brings you to Bovisand with three sandy coves looking out across the busy Plymouth Sound and the breakwater. Watch the Royal Navy and commercial shipping at work as boats, ships and even submarines, sail in and out of the historic port of Plymouth.
