Due to our continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our Rural Professional Department as a full-time Graduate Surveyor or Apprentice Rural Surveyor.

The role will involve a wide range of work including Farm Agency, Professional Valuations, Sustainable Farming Incentive & Countryside Stewardship Applications, Compensation Claims, Rural Planning Applications, Tenancy Matters as well as other day-to-day land agent tasks across Devon, Cornwall & Somerset.
Luscombe Maye will support the successful individual to become a Rural Chartered Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) by providing extensive training and support. This is demonstrated by the fact that we currently benefit from a 100% RICS APC pass rate over the last 10 years.
In addition to this, Luscombe Maye will encourage and support the successful applicant to become a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV).
The successful candidate will be principally based in our Kingsbridge office.
Areas Of Work
- Farms, Land & Smallholding sales/acquisition
- Professional RICS ‘Red Book’ Valuations
- Landlord and Tenant professional work such as Farm Business Tenancy & Grazing Licence matters
- Agri-Environment Applications such as Sustainable Farming Incentive & Countryside Stewardship Capital Grant applications
- Estate, farm and property management for both private and estate management clients
- Compensation Claims, Renewables and generation of new income streams
- Rural Planning and Strategic Development applications
What We're Looking For
- Self-motivated, ambitious, capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Technically proficient with excellent attention to detail
- Professional versatile with high standards
- Confident, driven and conscientious
- Full and clean UK Driving Licence.
- Access to your own vehicle.
For Apprentice Rural Surveyor Applicants:
We are also keen to hear from individuals considering a career in rural surveying through the degree apprenticeship route. The successful apprentice will gain hands-on experience across the full range of rural professional work undertaken by Luscombe Maye whilst studying towards a recognised degree qualification, typically through Harper Adams University.
Luscombe Maye will provide full support throughout the apprenticeship, including mentoring, study leave, funded professional memberships and structured training, with the ultimate aim of helping the successful candidate achieve Chartered Surveyor status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) & a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV).
